The Irish Tweeds Story

When Brian, Jim, and Zoë of Rosewood Bridge agreed to play a benefit they asked Pete DiGioia and Michale Frey to join them on drums and electric guitar.  With tongue in cheek they called the special line-up the Irish Tweeds inspired by Jim's 1960' rock and roll band and the name stuck. Now whether playing as the original 3 piece line-up of guitar fiddle and bass, or the 5 piece that adds drums and guitar we've decided to be the IRISH TWEEDS full-time! With lead singer Brian Quigley on guitar, Jim Dunnigan on bass, and Zoe Buck on fiddle plays your favorite Irish and Americana songs, a little country, a little rock, and a few originals too. Brian Quigley has been performing in the Western New York area for over fifteen years previously with Irish band The Dustmen. Buffalo Music Hall of Fame inductee Jim Dunnigan will be remembered by many long time Buffalo music listeners for being the bass player in one of Buffalo’s most successful 1960’s rock bands, The Tweeds, adds bass lines, harmonies, and the occasional kazoo. Zoë Buck on fiddle and vocals adds a truly Irish sound to the mix.

These three are the heart of the Irish Tweeds but when the show is big enough we expand to a five piece adding Pete DiGioia on drums and Michael Frey on electric guitar. These days you can find the Irish Tweeds bringing fun and music to pubs and parties all over Western NY.
